Yet another storm and horizontal snow, a blizzard really. Antarctica extremely important to the worlds weather system – it really is the storm factory of the great southern ocean

In 2008 Alfred Memelink joined an epic voyage to Antarctica on the New Zealand research ship Tangaroa. The voyage not only inspired him but opened his eyes to this amazing wilderness. It has made him aware of the necessity to work towards sustainability and to preserve Antarctica as an International Nature Park. This is his voyage diary.
